March 2012

Two thousand and twelve promises to be a very busy year for the Players.

At the moment we are concentrating on our spring production which takes place on April 26th, 27th and 28th .  The set is being constructed on Sunday afternoons 25th March and 1st April and if you feel like a bit of fun and possess an electric screwdriver please come along at 2pm.  Exactly how we fit a 1960’s lounge, hallway, and kitchen into a stage area 12ft X 16ft remains to be seen.

Our own John Churchill is appearing in “Titanic – The Musical” at the Minack Theatre on April 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th & 14th and it promises to be an exciting show especially the last night which is being performed at the same time of the evening as the actual events. We hope John “breaks a leg”. Not literally of course.

It is hoped to produce two one act plays in June.  Please contact Andrew Bown if you want to  take part.

Our summer play which stages on Monday and Thursday evenings from the end of July until the beginning of September, is to be a farce and will be produced by Pete Foxwell who has staged several successful plays in the last few years.

There is a Christmas production as usual in early December.

All this and new stage lighting, new scenery store and increased workshop space to be fitted out.

If you have Tuesday evenings free please come along for a coffee and a chat.  You will be most welcome.
